AHRENS Family History

AHRENS, JOHN B, retired farmer; P. O. Spring Bay; was born in Hanover, Germany, December 21, 1810; emigrated to America in 1846, stopping in New Orleans about five years, and in 1852, came directly to Spring Bay, purchasing two lots  and erecting  a  small  house. For the next ten years John Ahrens was employed most of the time in warehouse; in 1863, purchased forty acres of land and commenced farming. One of the best known and highly regarded attorneys of Woodford County, Illinois; James Albert  Briggs was born February 12, 1839 in Willet, Cortland County, New York; is the son of John and Margaret (Jones) Briggs.   Mrs. Edward Beecher (Maude Emma Hasty Beecher), 63, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 1952 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois after a lingering illness.She was brought to the Easton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Anchor. Burial will be in the St Johns Lutheran Church cemetery; Rev. William C Beecher, 61, Gibson City died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday at Gibson Community Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, near Anchor, McLean County, Illinois, with the Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Lamb Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday. BOSWORTH Family HIstory

BOSWORTH, Joseph P (JOS P), proprietor Bosworth House; P O Metamora; was born in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, November 25, 1803. He was raised a farmer; married November 12, 1826, to Miss Bertha Barns, who was born in Plymouth, Connecticut,  September  18, 1791. They had eight children, the following of whom are living —Catherine, Angeline, Mills H, Alphonzo, Mary E and Dwight.  In 1842, he removed to the State of New York, and four years later to Erie County, Pennsylvania, where he engaged in  the  hotel  business  and  farming.
